860,481. Magnetic circuits. KRIZIKKARLIN VYVOJOVY ZAVOD, NARODNI PODNIK, TOMANEK, E., and POLACEK, A. Sept. 9, 1957 [Oct. 4, 1956], No. 28367/57. Class 40 (9). [Also in Group XXXVI] In a system for determining the magnitude and direction of a direct current i, a voltage proportional to i is supplied to a measuring-device 9, and is derived from the difference in voltage drops across two resistors 6, 7 connected respectively in the working winding 1 and the polarizing winding 3 circuits of a transductor T, the control winding 2 of which is fed with the current i. An alternating supply voltage is applied across the working winding 1 in series with a rectifier bridge 4, the rectified output current producing a voltage drop across resistor 6. The supply voltage also feeds rectifier bridge 5 through an insulating transformer 11, and the rectified current feeds in series the polarizing winding 3 and a resistor 7. The difference in the voltage drops across resistors 6 and 7 is measured by the instrument 9 having a centre zero. Initially the instrument is balanced to zero, in the absence of the current i, by varying either or both the resistors 6, 7. A smoothing capacitor 10, and a limiting resistor 8 are incorporated in the polarizing winding circuit.
