Abstract
860,182. Hydraulic control systems. MIPSA S. A. April 9, 1957 [April 11, 1956], No. 11516/57. Class 69 (2). An hydraulic system particularly for the control of a machine tool table comprises a control valve 3 having a central position in which a piston 49 is reciprocated under the control of an automatically actuated reversing valve 58 and two end positions in which the piston is given a forward or reverse stroke independently of the position of the reversing valve 58. As shown, the control valve 3 is urged to its central position by pistons 20, 21 in chambers 22, 23 supplied with liquid by a pump 16, and the piston is reciprocated by liquid supplied by a pump 56 through the reversing valve 58 which is actuated by dogs 60, 61 on the piston-rod. Pilot valves 32, 33 are urged upwardly by liquid supplied by the pump 16 to chambers 37, 38. Manual depression of the valve 32 or 33 opens a control valve chamber 40 or 42 to the supply line from pump 16 and the control valve 3 is moved to the right or to the left, thus interrupting communication between the reversing valve and the piston, and opening communication between the pump 16 and one side or the other of the piston and opening the other side of the piston to an exhaust line 43. When the pilot valve is released it is automatically moved to its upper position and the control valve is moved to its central position. The following modifications can be made:- (1) Pump 56 can be dispensed with and pump 16 can supply liquid to the reversing valve. (2) The pilot valves 32, 33 can be replaced by a single pilot valve. (3) The pilot valves may be omitted and a mechanical control member act directly on the control valve 3.
