Abstract
859,465. Casting and cutting concrete blocks. DUROX INTERNATIONAL S.A. Nov. 6, 1959 [Nov. 19, 1958 ; Oct. 23, 1959], No. 37698/59. Class 87(2). Rails 4 are positioned across the base 5 of a collapsible mould 2 and are supported by the two end members 2a which are recessed to fit them. Intermediate plates 12, similarly recessed, may be added. Concrete mix is poured into the mould and when the mix has partially set the plates 12 are removed and the mix is levelled off. After the mix has set the sides and ends of the mould are removed, leaving a cast block on the base 5 and rails 4. Cutting wires 1 are attached to the rails at one end and at the other end a cross-member 10 is clipped to the rails. The cross-member 10 is joined by longitudinal members 7, 8 to a frame 3 to which the other ends of the wires 1 are attached. By relative movement the wires and rails are passed through the concrete which is thus subdivided and, at the same time grooved in accordance with the shape of the rails. If a plain face is desired on the bottom of the cast block, a horizontal cutting wire 13 is added. Examples are given of rail sections to give variously shaped grooves.
