A keyway cutting attachment for a slotting machine comprises a tool 5 bevelled at its inner end and movable in a transverse hole in a guide-tube 2 by a bevelled rod 4 engaging the tool and manually advancable against spring means 6, 8. The rod is adjusted by a bevelledblock 7 engaged by a screw 9, the depth-of-cut being limited by an adjustable stop 10. The lower end of the tube 2 carries a cylindrical block 12a to engage the interior of the work.
