858,403. Laminates. PNEUMATIQUES & CAOUTCHOUC MANUFACTURE KLEBERCOLOMBES. March 26, 1957 [May 31, 1956], No. 29239/60. Divided out of 9893/57. Class 140. In multiply laminated belts comprising plies of rubber or like material at least one inner ply which has longitudinally extending reinforcing wires or cables, for example belts, as disclosed in Specification 816,505, the ends are joined by cutting the reinforced ply ends into a series of complementary V-shaped projections, the apices and troughs of which 24 . . . 27 each consist of two or three'reinforcement elements, and the sides of which are stepped by cutting the intermediate elements of various, but complementary, lengths. The remaining plies are removed before, and replaced and incorporated in the belt by bonding after, the cutting step.
