Class 20(1) A silo for green silage comprises uprights consisting of tubes e spigotted end to end and connected by arcuate angle section rails d to form a frame which is lined by synthetic sheet or wire netting and waterproof paper. The ends e<SP>7</SP> of the tubes are pointed to facilitate entry into the ground up to the lower rail d. Rotation of the tubes is prevented by pins e<SP>3</SP> which fit into recesses in collars e<SP>4</SP> of plates e carried by each tube e. The rails d fit over pins e<SP>6</SP> on these plates. Tubes f also engage over pins d<SP>2</SP> on the rails d. A canvas cover h is placed between the parts g, g of a cap connected by rails g2 to spigots g<SP>4</SP> in the top tubes e. T-section uprights comprising sections connected end to end by channel clamps are illustrated in Fig. 1 (not shown).
