Abstract

[Also in Group XVI] A sheet-feeding table, for feeding sheets singly or in overlapping form from a sheetseparating mechanism, comprises a series of parallel strips 1 extending transversely of the direction of sheet feed, each strip being connected to endless chains 5 which are mounted on wheels 11, 12. Each strip 1 is made of synthetic material or hard rubber, or of metal and coated with rubber, and is slightly curved at the longitudinal edges. The wheels 11, 12 are carried by side frames, such as 3, pivotally mounted at 9 on a sheet-separator 10. The upper runs of the chains 6 are supported by fibre &c. rails to provide a flat sheet table. The sheets are pressed down on to the table strips either by rollers 15, or by air blasts from nozzles 17 in air pipes 16, or by both means.
