Abstract

856,949. Doors for passenger vehicles. DEANS & SON (YORKSHIRE) Ltd. Nov. 3, 1958 [March 27, 1958], No. 9796/58. Class 103(2). [Also in Group XXV] A door wing 11, which may form part of a sliding-folding door for a vehicle, is adjustably attached to one or more support arms each of which comprises an outer portion 14, 15 welded or otherwise attached to the hinge post 12 and a stretcher bar 17 located within an edge channel 16 of the door and connected with the outer portion by means such as clamping bolts 18 which extend through a longitudinal slot in the channel. The bolts 18 are secured, e.g. by welding, to the bar 17, and further bolts 20 are likewise secured to the other end of the bar for attaching a bar 21 which carries a stub-pivot 22 for the pivot arm 23 of a second door wing 10. The arm 23 is equivalent to the bars 14, 15 of wing 11, and enables wing 10 to be adjusted relative to the pivot 22.
