Abstract

856,767. Souirrel-cage constructions. ELECTRIC CONSTRUCTION CO. Ltd. June 30, 1959 [July 29, 1958], No. 24421/58. Class 35. The rotor bars 1 (Fig. 1) of a squirrel-cage motor are split lengthwise along a plane 2 inclined to the axis of the bar so that the halves form opposed wedges. During assembly of the rotor a bar is inserted in a slot 9 and one of the halves is then shifted relative to the other so that there is an increase in the lateral dimensions of the bar, thus locking it against the top and bottom of the slot (Fig. 3). In Fig. 2 the bar is split along a plane inclined both to the axis and to the sides of the bar. This bar looks. against the sides of the slots as well as the top and bottom (Fig. 4).
