Abstract

856,532. Endless conveyers. ASHWORTH BROS. Inc. July 7, 1958, No. 21713/58. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer belt of the type which is formed by a series of flat wire strips each having U-shaped bends forming pairs of adjacent legs 11, the strips being interconnected by pivot-pins 15 passed through apertures 12, 14 in the legs, rollers 20 are arranged on the pins at positions uniformly spaced across the width of the belt. The diameter of the rollers is approximately equal to the width of the strip and the apertures 12, 14 are disposed nearer to one longitudinal edge of the strips than the other so that the roller peripheries project from the lower face of the belt to support the belt for travel over a supporting structure. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the rollers are staggered, being within alternate ones of the forwardly and rearwardly extending loops, while in a third embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown), the rollers are disposed in every forwardly extending loop as well as in every rearwardly extending loop.
