Abstract

855,531. Locking means for textile drafting machanism. SKF KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. March 4, 1959 [June 12, 1958]. Class 120(2). Locking means for a top roll carrier and weighting arm 1 pivotally mounted on a stationary bracket 6 comprises an operating lever 15 mounted in the bracket 6 to which the arm 1 is locked in the two extreme positions of the arm by means of a lever detent formed from a pair of levers 11, 12 coupled together by a supporting member 14 in such manner as to have moved through a dead centre position when the arm 1 is in the operative position, but to be displaceable relative to each other until they become positively interlocked during movement of the lever 15 into its position corresponding with the inoperative position of the arm 1. As shown, the levers 11, 12 have overlapping slots 11<SP>1</SP>, 12<SP>1</SP> so that when the arm 15 is raised levers 11, 12, due to the spring 16 and pin 14 pivot about 10 and 13 until a hook 1211 on the lever 12 engages the pivot 10, and thus holds the arm 1 in the inoperative position.
