Abstract

853,560. Warping machines. COURTAULDS Ltd. April 21, 1959 [April 21, 1958]; No. 12522/58. Class 142(1). A warp is wound on to a rotating swift and the direction of rotation of the swift is reversed to wind the warp on to a warp beam. The swift 1 is driven by a reversible electric motor 4. The warp beam 6 is driven through a hydraulic coupling 12 by an electric motor 14. When the warp is being transferred from swift to warp beam, electric motor 14 is started first, but the beam 6 does not start to move until motor 4 is started, slipping taking place at the hydraulic coupling 12.
