852,984. Combustion chambers. DAIMLERBENZ A.G. Dec. 23, 1958 [Jan. 2, 1958], No. 41511/58. Class 7(3). A multi-jet nozzle 16 injects into a combustion chamber 11 in the piston formed symmetrically about an axis 13 offset from the piston axis 24, the tip 17 of the nozzle being offset from the combustion chamber axis 13 on a line through the axes 13, 24 and the fuel jets being of different lengths and inclined to the piston head at an angle of 'at most 45 degrees so that they impinge on the combustion chamber wall at an acute angle of at least 45 degrees. The nozzle tip may be offset from the piston axis as shown or may be situated on said axis.
