Abstract

Foamed plastic bodies 5-50 mm. long, suitable for floating on a volatile liquid to reduce evaporation, are coated with metal deposited from its vapour state to reduce their wetted area. Other layers such as of lacquer or polyethylene may also be applied, and the deposition may be facilitated by a static electric charge. The bodies may be of cellulose acetate or polyvinyl chloride. Specification 291,618 is referred to.
