Relates to twin cylinder internal combustion engines for vehicles of the kind in which the engine 1 and the clutch, gearbox and differential unit 2, together form a single unit from which project the axle shafts. The two cranks of the engine are in alignment. According to the invention the suspension system of such a unit comprises front and rear elastic means 3 and 4 symmetrically arranged with respect to a longitudinal plane passing through the centre of gravity of the unit which is designed according to the following formulae: where b is the distance between a plane 8 passing through the centre of gravity and a plane 7 passing between the cylinders of the engine.
