Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0849755/IV(b)/1> (wherein R is a dialkylamino group with like or unlike alkyl groups having not more than five carbon atoms each) and their non-toxic acid addition salts. They may be made by reacting a bromo-propiophenone with an appropriate amine.ALSO:Pharmaceutical compositions comprise an a -dialkylamino-propiophenone of the general formula: <FORM:0849755/VI/1> (wherein R is a dialkylamino group with like or unlike alkyl groups having not more than five carbon atoms each) or a non-toxic acid addition salt thereof, in admixture with a solid, semi-solid or liquid inert pharmaceutical carrier. They may be, for example, capsules or liquids, and are used in the oral treatment and cure of obesity or for reducing the appetite.
