Abstract
848,220. Windows. EVERS & CO. A. B. May 31, 1957 [June 1, .1956], No. 17389/57. Class 20(3) In a sealing device, e.g. for an inclining roof window which is pivoted on horizontal pins 3 located about half-way along its sides and has the side pieces 1, 5, of the sash and frame covered by channel-shaped sheet members overlapping adjacent to and above the pivotal axis, the overlapping end of the bottom portion 29 of each of the members attached to the frame has an inwardly extending flange 341 parallel to the axis which co-operates with an outwardly directed flange 35 on the end of the bottom portion 32 of the corresponding member attached to the sash to form a tight seal in the closed position of the sash. Above the axis the side pieces 1, 5, have offset portions 26, 27, respectively, the former making an acute angle with the outwardly facing surface of the sash and the latter forming a continuation of the wall of a semi-circular recess'28 which receives the end of the portion 32 when the sash is open. The flange 35 forms an acute angle with the portion 32 corresponding to the offset 26. To prevent draughts through the recess 28 a plate 36 in the form of a sector of a circle is secured at its centre to the end of the pin 3 and is located inside the side wall 34 of the member secured to the sash. Alternatively the plate 36 may be secured to the channel member.
