[Also in Group VII] An ear protecting device comprises a helmet I, for enclosing the skull and ears, having inflatable tubular cushions 3 around the lower rim and around the ears. The outer shell is formed as a two-walled structure with the intervening space evacuated and it may be lined with a layer 2 of resilient material such as sponge rubber.
