847,786. Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. May 22, 1959 [May 23, 1958], No. 17524/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (2). A magnetic record apparatus comprises transducer heads incorporating Hall voltage generators, whereby the signal to noise ratio obtainable enables track widths of 1 mm. to be employed spaced not greater than 2 mm. between centres. In the embodiment described a standard record tape 6.25 mm. wide carries four 1 turn. tracks having 0.75 mm. spaces between each track. The Hall generators permit transducer gaps of the order of 5 Á.
