Abstract

Non-pathogenic infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus for use as a vaccine is obtained by modifying infectious bovine rhinotracheitis virus by serial passage, preferably for at least 40 passages, at one-two day intervals in a nutrient fluid containing bovine tissue culture. The bovine tissue may be from kidney, testicular, lung or muscle.
