Feathers are plucked out by the nip 13 of pairs of inclined discs 7 rotated on a splined shaft, and kept inclined by contact with pressing rollers 11, 12 on relatively offset dies 9, 10 which press the discs 7 against wedge guides 4. The pressing rollers 11, 12 are adjusted up or down in the inclined space by being carried on an upper jaw 1 adjustably spaced from the lower jaw 2 by a screw. The discs 7 may have a rubber or other friction gripping surface.
