844,130. Reciprocating pumps. FREEMAN, A. W. Sept. 18, 1958 [Oct. 2, 1957], No. 29931/58. Class 102(1). A bucket piston 25 is linked to a hand lever 37 and to a spring loaded valve 18 which controls the suction pipe 15 ; the discharge pipe 5 is connected to a discharge chamber 4 in which is slidable a piston 43 having a valve head 44 closing the outlet 42. The valve 18 is arranged to be held open until the end of the suction stroke so that the suction effect causes rapid closing of the valve 44. The head 44 may enter the spout 42 and the valve 18 may be part spherical.
