Abstract
843,859. Stud and socket fastenings. Mc- GEOCH & CO. Ltd., W. Aug. 25, 1958 [Aug. 29, 1957], No. 27196/57. Class 44 Relates to a release device of the type comprising a cylinder c adapted to enter the flanged part b<2> of a flanged tubulus b in which the cylinder is provided with balls f located in apertures in its wall and which come behind the flange b<2> for retentive purposes and are controlled by a head portion d<2> of a spring loaded rod d. According to the invention the head portion of the rod is of tapering formation and the balls are located at the commencement of the taper when the parts are effectively united. As shown, the device is applied to an electric plug and socket connection. The rod d may be operated by a lever and cam.
