842,744. Programming arrangements for computors. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO. Ltd. Nov. 11, 1958 [Sept. 11, 1957], No. 28670/57. Class 106 (1). A digital computor has a function matrix 20 for decoding the instructions received from the computor's store and furnishing a pulse on any of a number of output channels according to which function is required, and has connected to these outputs a plurality of sets of staticisers adapted to be connected to the function matrix in a recurring sequence. As shown, two sets of staticizers 34 to 38, 45 to 49, are connected to the function matrix through AND gates 25 to 29, 40 to 44, respectively. The change-over from one set of staticizers to the other is controlled by a bi-stable circuit, comprising twostate devices 31 and 32 operated by pulses on the set line 21, operating gates 22 and 23 in conjunction with pulses from the function matrix. Staticizer 31 controls gate 30 which connects the gates 25 to 29 with the set line and staticizer 32 controls gate 39 connecting gates 40 to 44 with the set line. Staticizer 33 operates with both sets of staticizers.
