Class 52(3) A foldable book-rest has two supporting members 10, 11 pivoted together by a pin 12 secured at the rear to a U-shaped bracket having rearwardly extending lugs apertured to receive a spindle 16 on which are mounted the free ends 17, 18 of a U-shaped strut 19 which has a bridge piece 20 with inclined nose 21 to lie between members 10, 11 in the operative position. A chain 22 forms a collapsible support for a typist's note book.
