Abstract
840,981. Conveyers. HALL, C. T., and MOLINS MACHINE CO. Ltd. April 17, 1958 [April 17, 1957], No. 12564/57. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group XVII] A device for causing a packet lying on one broad face to lie on the opposite face comprises a carrier, pivoted along one edge, which receives the packet and turns through 180 degrees with it, the packet then being ejected. A further device may turn the packet through 90 degrees in the plane of its broad face prior to turning over of the packet. A packet 1B is ejected horizontally from a rotatable drum 24 of a packaging machine by a pusher 26 and thrusts the preceding packet 1A on to a rotating disc 20 where it is engaged by a roller 21 on the disc and pushed between guides 22, 23. The roller 21 finally deposits it in the carrier 4, the latter having fixed on its end and side walls 5, 6 and a movable wall 30. The carrier is rotated 180 degrees by rack and pinion means 10, 11 and during its final movement, the wall 30 contacts an abutment 34 so that it is held clear of the packet while the latter is ejected by a dog 17 on a conveyer 18.
