Abstract

A laxative composition comprises a pharmaceutical carrier in admixture with a high molecular weight (e.g. about 7500) interpolymerization product of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide which is non-ionic in character and has the general formula <FORM:0840155/VI/1> wherein the groups (C2H4O)x + 2 represent from 20 to 90% of the weight of the compound and "Y" is at least 25. A suitable commercially available product is that known as "Pluronic F.68." The compositions may be in the form of solutions, suppositories, powders. Specification 731,603 is referred to.
