Abstract

A "fair-faced" building board or panel, made by applying a thin web, e.g. a woven or bonded fabric of regenerated cellulose, jute, cotton, glass fibre, nylon or polyethylene terephthalate, or of wire mesh, to one or both faces of a band of rigid fissured base material such as wood wool slab or resin-bonded compressed straw, is sprayed or otherwise coated with a plastics material such as a dispersion or latex of a vinyl chloride/acetate copolymer, polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated rubber or butadieneacrylonitrile copolymer, and the laminated material is then cut into boards or panels. The plastics coating may be embossed. Specification 840,128 is referred to.
