Hand-operated apparatus for flame cutting the end of a tube 3 comprises a shaft 1 adapted to be mounted coaxially within the tube by an expansible fixture 2 and forming a pivot for a cutting torch 9 and a tracing roller 10 adapted to run along a template or the. like 5. The expansible fixture 2 is operated by a handle 15, Fig. 2 (not shown). A sleeve 6 rotatably surrounds the shaft and carries an arm 7 and support rod 8 for the tracer 10 and torch 9 which is adjustably clamped in a bracket 12. The template 5 may be a pipe into which, the tube 3 is to be inserted, and against which the end 4 of the rod is located. Rotation of the arm 7 and sleeve 6 around the shaft 1 causes the torch to cut the tube end to the desired contour. In another embodiment a circular or flat template 13, 14, Fig. 2 (not shown), is used.
