Abstract

838,418. Centrifugal separators. WESTFALIA SEPARATOR A.G. July 9, 1956 [Sept. 19, 1955], No. 21227/56 Class 23 In a centrifugal separator directly driven by an electric motor 2, the separator shaft 4 rotates within bearings 6, 7 supported by frame partitions 17, 18 and protected by sleeves 8, 12, and drainage outlets 22, 25, 27 from the frame prevent liquid overflowing from the bowl 5 penetrating to the bearings and the motor winding. The shaft carries caps 9, 10 cooperating with the sleeves. A flexible connection 3 is placed between the motor shaft 1 and the shaft 4.
