Abstract

838,315. Retractive switches; switch covers. MYCALEX & T.I.M. Ltd. July 15, 1958 [July 16, 1957], No. 22550/57. Glass 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXVI] A safety circuit-connecting device comprises three terminals 25, 26, 27 (see Group XXXVI), connected respectively to the live, neutral and earth conductors of a cable 28, with snap-action switches 32, 33, in the live and earth circuits respectively, the terminals and switches being mounted in a metal base 24 having an insulating lid 35. The switches 32, 33, are normally held closed by the engagement of two pins 37 on the lid with pins attached to insulating members 40, 41, but open automatically when the lid is opened to give access to the terminals. The lid is latched in the closed position by the engagement of a hook (Fig. 2, not shown), with a spring-loaded catch releasable by a button 44.
