Abstract

<PICT:0838141/IV (a)/1> Synthetic resin lobed monofilaments for the making of brush bristles are formed by melt extruding three or more resinous monofilaments and allowing them to come into peripheral contact as they emerge from the orifices of the die-plate of the extruder so that they cohere to form a hollow lobed monofilament. The resin may be polystyrene or a styrene/acrylonitrile copolymer.
