Abstract

<PICT:0837798/III/1> <PICT:0837798/III/2> <PICT:0837798/III/3> A mobile plant for cleaning, painting and drying poles and tubes comprises a trailer vehicle G, Fig. 1, having mounted thereon a cleaning unit A1 and a painting and drying unit B1 through which the tubes are passed to be painted, and subsequently dried by infra-red heating or air blast. In painting and drying, the tubes are passed by grooved rollers 69A, Fig. 1, mounted on driven shafts 60A, 61A, Fig. 3, through a paint applying chamber 47C where paint is applied by drip feed from a conduit fed from a reservoir or by spray guns 97. Where paint is applied by drip feed it may been spread evenly by annular brushes each encircling the path of a line of tubes. For spray painting a paint reservoir 98 having a pump therein supplies paint under pressure, and an air compressor 99 (Fig. 2, not shown) supplies compressed air to the nozzles 97. A power driven wheel 103 carries scaffolding clips between the guns or nozzles 106 for paint spraying.
