Abstract
837,014. Stripping conductors. TESLA, NARODNI PODNIK. Nov. 8, 1956, No. 34114/56. Class 36. A wile-stripping tool comprises two electrically-heated wires 13, 14 hooked into each other and mounted on springs 11 anchored in a rotatable head 9 and carrying weights 12 near their free ends. The wires 13, 14 are pressed inwardly by the springs and the wire to be stripped is inserted in the opening between them. The head 9 is then rotated, causing the wires 13, 14 to grip the inserted wire, due to the centrifugal force acting on the weights 12, and to burn or soften the insulation thereon. The end of the insulation is removed as the wire is drawn from the tool and is ejected from the tool by centrifugal force. The head 9 is carried on shaft 3 coupled with shaft 2 which is driven by a flexible shaft 4. The coupling 8 may be broken by depressing lever 5, which causes sleeve 6 to move shaft 3. The heating supply to wires 13, 14 is connected to collecting rings 10a, 10b on head 9, to which the wires are connected. The tool is enclosed in a casing 1 having a removable cap 15 and base 20. The former has an axial opening 17 for insertion of the wire and openings 18 for removal of the stripped insulation. The base 20 is provided with an outlet 21 for connection with a suction pipe so that smoke &c. may be removed from the tool.
