835,828. Motor vehicle driving gear. SELENE S. A. S. Dec. 3, 1957 .[Jan. 29, 1957], No. 37686/57. Class 79(2) A tractor is converted to four-wheel drive by connecting the front wheels through a differential, an articulated auxiliary shaft and a transmission gear 3, 4, 5 to a sleeve 2 splined to a rear power takeoff shaft 1. The sleeve 2 has a splined extension 18 to act as a power take-off in the converted tractor and is formed with sprocket teeth 3 connected by a chain 4 to a sprocket wheel 5 driving the articulated shaft through shafts 6, 8 a torquelimiting device and a clutch 7. A casing 16 secured at 17 to the tractor frame encloses the chain which may be replaced by a gear train.
