Abstract
835,420. Stoves. HELKENBERG, F. July 23, 1956 [June 15, 1956], No. 22668/56. Classes 75(1) and 126 The annular wick 17, Fig. 2, of a portable oil stove comprising separable parts 1, 26 is raised and lowered by rotation of the upper part 26 by means of a handle 39. The parts are connected by a tube 27 secured to a saddle 41 attached to the upper part and having at its lower end a pin 28 adapted to be passed through a slot 13, Fig. 5, in a sleeve 11 inserted in a tube 10 mounted in a guide tube 7 secured to the lower part, turned through 180 degrees and then passed through a similar slot 13 in a sleeve 12 at the lower end of the tube 10. The wick is inserted in a threaded sleeve 18, Fig.. 4, and attached thereto by points 19 stuck up from the sleeve and fitted over the tube 7. A cap 21, rotatable through strips 38 secured to the upper part and engaging slots in the cap, includes a perforate basket 22 having a threaded sleeve 24 which is screwed on to the sleeve 18 so that station of the cap effects the raising and lowering of the wick. The strips 38 protect a glass section 30 of the upper part from damage by the handle 39.
