Abstract

834,483. Scraper devices for handling materials. MASSEY, O. June 13, 1958 [June 24, 1957], No. 19772/57. Class 78 (4). A scraper 4a handling material is moved by power along a boom 2 on a carriage manipulated by hand. As illustrated, the carriage and boom are formed of tubing and mounted on wheels 18 while the ram 5 moving the scraper 4a is controlled by a twist grip on the handle 16. A further scraper 4b of skeleton form is carried on the same frame 3 as the scraper 4a and preferably has a straight lower edge whereas the lower edge of the scraper 4a is serrated. During use the device is held from movement by pivoted sprags 12 controlled by a handle 23 and adjustable so that the wheels 18 do not touch the ground. The wheels may be driven through the transmission described in Specification 795,794, which is referred to.
