834,429. Skip hoists. SKIP COMPAGNIE G.m.b.H. July 31,1956, No. 23633/56. Class 78 (4). A skip for a shaft winding installation has platforms 3, 4 and 5, 6 for men or trucks respectively above and below the material container 1. The platforms 3, 4 may be hinged back against the side wall as indicated by chain-dotted lines, thus enabling the container 1 to be loaded through a side entrance above at least one of the platforms 3, 4, and reducing the overall length of the skip. The platforms 5, 6 may be on a separate frame attached by chains or resilient means to the main frame 8. An installation in which one such skip ascends while another descends is so arranged that the upper platforms of one skip are loading while the lower platforms of the other are unloading, and vice versa.
