832,698. Injection moulding machines. MACBETH, C. Nov. 4, 1957 [Nov. 13, 1956], No. 34628/56. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XXII] An injection moulding machine comprises a removable container c for accommodating a stack of superimposed moulds d, a container a for a predetermined quantity of plastic material b, and a pair of coaxial rams g, k arranged to apply pressure to the plastic material whilst at the same time displacing the plastic material and stack relative to each other to transfer the material to the moulds successively. The drawings show two machines for making washers of rubber or the plastic material, but the invention may also be applied to ceramic material or metals. In, Fig. 1, the plastic material b is placed between two plugs f, h, and two rams g, k subjected to different pressures such that the assemblage of rams and plugs moves upwardly and the moulds d are successively filled. In Fig. 5, the ram g, plug f, and moulds d are moved upwardly and the ram k and container c are moved downwardly to force the material b into the cavities e in the moulds.
