Abstract
831,004. Centrifugal separators. MICRO CYCLOMAT CO. Oct. 10, 1957 [Oct. 15, 1956], No. 7298/59. Divided out of 831,003. Class 23 In a classifier comprising a cylindrical casing 32 having tangential inlet and outlet ducts 29, 33, and a rotor 31 within the casing, particle laden air enters through the inlet 29, coarse particles and a little air are discharged through the outlet 33, and fine particles and the bulk of the air pass inwardly through the rotor and are discharged from the rotor axially. The classifier is mounted over, and receives the particle laden air from a grinding mill, the coarse particles from the classifier being returned to the mill for further treatment. The width of the outlet 33 is adjustable, and the inlet 29 has an adjustable air inlet 43. The rotor comprises annular plates 44, radial blades 45 and rods 47. The rotor shaft carries fans having blades 56 and rotating within collection chambers 49 mounted at either end of the casing. The chambers are connected by ducts 60 to an independently driven fan, air flow control means and a material collector system. In a modification having one collector chamber, the plates 59 which direct the air and fine particles to either end of the rotor are omitted. Specification 789,274 also is referred to.
