Abstract

The invention comprises 6 - [211 - indolyl - (21) - ethyl - amino] - purine and 6 - [211 - (51 - hydroxy - indolyl - 21) - ethyl - amino] - purine and their preparation by heating a 6-alkyl-mercapto-purine or a 6-halogene-purine with the appropriate amino-ethyl-indole, in the latter instance in the presence of a hydrogen halide binding agent, e.g. an excess of the amino-ethylindole or potash. An example is given. The products are stated to be antagonists to 6-furfurylamino - purine. Specifications 813,777 and 828,521 are referred to.
