[Also in Group XXV] A power transmitting cable for Bowden mechanism has a core 1 surrounded by successive layers of wire 2-5, these layers being helically wound in opposite directions with adjacent turns in contact and the final layer 5 forming a tension-transmitting member upon which a spaced helix 6 is laid under tension in such manner that the final layer 5 is deformed where the helix 6 makes contact with it. Each layer 2-5 may be composed of several wires.
