Abstract

826,213. Gas filters. YOKES Ltd. Aug. 14, 1958 [Aug. 16, 1957], No. 26002/57. Class 8(2). The feed and take-up spools 4, 9 between which a gas filter web 20 extends across a gas duct are located downstream of the web and the take-up spool 11 is sited within a sealed casing 8, 16, 18 to which access is gained through a sliding door 17. In operation clean material is fed from the spool 4 over a guide roller 6 and between upper and lower channelshaped cross members 21 to 24 of the frame 1, guide rollers 11, 10 to the spool 9 having a sprocket wheel 12 driven by a motor 13. The margins of the stretched web are sealed to the frame between inwardly facing channels and the web is supported against the gas pressure by vertical bars 27, Fig. 3 (not shown) adjacent the downstream face. Prior to opening the door 17 to remove a spent spool a shutter 28 is drawn across the upstream side of the web.
