826,074. Water-waste-preventing cisterns. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. July 9, 1958 [July 9, 1957], No. 21765 /57. Class 26. In a flushing cistern having a lever 3 for manual operation of the syphon mechanism a protuberance 5 is rockable in a recess 6 at or in the upper edge of the wall of the tank 1. The lid 2 has a proturberance 8 so located, with the lid in position, to prevent the protuberance 5 jumping out of the recess 6. The lever may pass through a gap 9 in the wall, a slightly curved portion 10 contacting the edge of the lid 2 serving to retain the lever in the gap. A bracket secured to the upper edge may retain the lever in position with no lid. The tank 1 may be of moulded synthetic resin material, the recess having a brass liner 7.
