Abstract
The invention comprises thiophosphoric esters of formula <FORM:0826037/IV (b)/1> wherein R is alkyl or phenyl, A is C2-4 alkylene, and R1 is a carboxylate ester radical, the radical of an organic or inorganic ester of a hydroxyalkyl mercaptan or an alkylmercapto, arylmercapto, alkoxy or aryloxy radical, or, when R is phenyl, R1 may also be a hydroxyalkyl mercaptan radical or a tertiary aminoalkyl radical which may be heterocyclic. They may be prepared by reacting O,O-diesters of thiophosphoric acid halides with alcohols of formula R1-CH2-S-A-OH in the presence of acid binding agents, preferably in an inert solvent. Alternatively the alcohol may be reacted as an alcoholate. Metal catalysts such as copper powder may be used. Temperatures of 0-250 DEG C. are mentioned.ALSO:Pesticidal compositions comprise thiophosphoric esters of formula <FORM:0826037/VI/1> where R is alkyl or phenyl, A is C2-4 alkylene, and R1 is a carboxylic ester radical, the radical of an organic or inorganic ester of a hydroxyalkyl mercaptan, an alkylmercapto, arylmercapto, alkoxy or aryloxy radical, or, when R is phenyl, R1 may also be an hydroxyalkylmercaptan radical or a tertiary aminoalkyl radical which may be heterocyclic. Solid or liquid carriers may be used and other pesticides may be present.
