825,122. Flooring units; floors. GARDNER, M. July 19, 1956 [July 22, 1955], No. 21302/55. Classes 20(4) and 87(1) In a flooring unit consisting of sections 1, 1a each comprising a number of blocks 2, 2a of wood, plastic, &c. disposed side by side, adjacent sections and their constituent blocks are temporarily joined in abutting relationship by strippable adhesive tape 3, 4, 5 applied to their upper faces. The tape may be a transparent tape with a synthetic plastic base such as that known by the Registered Trade Mark "Sellotape", or it may be applied as a liquid which sets to form a strippable tape. The tape may be perforated. In laying the floor, bitumen emulsion 8 is spread on the area 6 of the foundation to be covered by the section 9 and the section 9 is pressed into the emulsion, then the same procedure is repeated for the adjoining section 11 and for all succeeding sections. Finally the tape is stripped off the blocks.
