To enable the quality of the fabric produced on a flat warp machine to be varied, the height of the sinkers 8 can be adjusted by raising or lowering the lower pivot point 23 of the vertical link 21 supporting the sinker bar 18. Adjustment of the pivot point 23 is achieved by securing the shaft on which the link is mounted in eccentric bushes 22 and either rotating the shaft or eccentric bushes.
