Abstract

An hydrocarbon-reforming catalyst comprises a mixture of a silica-alumina cracking component and a sorbent carrier on which has been deposited a metal hydrogenation component, wherein the metal forms 0.1 to 20% by weight of the total catalyst and is platinum, palladium or nickel, the sorbent carrier forming 5 to 75% by weight of the total catalyst. The sorbent carrier may be alumina, silica gel, borium sulphate, magnesium oxide, titanium dioxide, or further silica-alumina. The silica alumina preferably contains 7 to 30% by weight of alumina. Examples are given.
