823,102. Greasing baking surfaces. COOPERATIVE WHOLESALE SOCIETY Ltd. Jan. 13, 1958 [Jan. 11, 1957], No. 1092/57. Class 28 (1). A device for greasing the band 10 of a biscuit making oven comprises a trough 12 containing emulsified grease 16 in which a first roller 14 dips and transfers the grease on to a second longitudinally abutting resiliently-loaded roller 17, covered with a textile material 18, e.g. felt or flannel, engaging and driven by band 10 and a wiper 21 engaging the band to remove surplus grease therefrom. As shown, band 10, which is of thin flexible metal, is carried on rollers 11 and the wiper 19, which is adjustable, comprises a felt strip 21 secured between angle irons 20. A helix 16 of felt or the like is wound on roller 14 and the second roller 17 may be adjustable by springs 17a.
