Class 112 [Also in Group XXV] A sewing machine presser foot comprises a sole plate provided on its upper surface with one or more horizontal coupling elements, and a shank member fixable to the presser bar and having a horizontal arm provided with one or more supporting elements for slidable engagement and interlocking with the coupling elements. In Fig. 3 a shank member 1 has a horizontal arm 3 formed with a longitudinal slot 4 which is crossed by a pair of horizontal, outwardly projecting pins 5, 6. A latch bar 7 which pivots in slot 4 on pin 6, is provided at its front end with a horizontal bar 8 and at its rear end with a horizontal pin 10 engaged by a leaf spring 9, depending from shank 1, for holding bar 7 in adjusted angular position. The sole plate 2 is provided on its upper surface with a pair of shaped, U-shaped members 11, 12 and is moved horizontally to engage the latter with pins 5, 6. -Bar 8 is then moved downwardly in front of members 11, 12 to lock the sole plate, pin 5 passing into a notch formed in bar 7. In a modification, Fig. 5, U-shaped member 16 engage pin 5 only, to provide for limited pivotal movement of the sole plate.
